L.A. Feature: Kiwi Boy is Back

So, think back to the year 2001. Does the name Daniel Bedingfield ring a bell? If not, I’m sure you’d remember these two songs: “Gotta Get Thru This” and “If You’re Not the One” (< -- Take a listen). Daniel, who was born in New Zealand, actually grew up in southeast London where he developed an ear for music and passion for writing at a very young age. After self-recording "Gotta Get Thru This" in his own bedroom, Daniel got his big break at the age of 21 and quickly climbed the charts in the UK. Although it's been a while since Daniel's released new music, he's ready to rock and share his matured and energetic new tunes.

I was lucky enough to stumble across a tweet from @danielbedingfld asking for help (in L.A.) with social media as he prepares to release new music to the world. I was excited by the opportunity to help such a talented and driven musician! The first mission was to set him up with an official Facebook Fan Page where he’d be able to connect and share new music with his fans! If you’re not already a fan, make sure to “Like” him on Facebook. You can also connect with Daniel via Twitter and YouTube to be the first to see everything that Daniel’s got in the works… lots of incredible music coming up.

I’m so excited for everyone to hear all of the amazing music that he’s been working on. A few weeks ago, I helped Daniel with a video shoot up in the hills of Hollywood at Runyon Canyon! Daniel recorded a brilliant audio clip using only his vocals, a microphone and the FourTrack app on his iPhone 4! I really think you’ll be blown away when you hear this song and realize that it was all recorded LIVE.

L.A. Feature: Joe Brooks. The Next @johncmayer?

Thanks to Jason Reeves, I stumbled upon this amazing artist, Joe Brooks who Seventeen Magazine just today named, “the next John Mayer.” That’s quite the honor, don’t you think?
Joe Brooks

Being a huge John Mayer fan myself, I know that those are some giant shoes to fill, but I’m confident that Joe the talent and appeal to make it happen. After catching him at The Roxy back in January, and again recently for his (free) acoustic performance at The Gap Store in Beverly Hills, I’d say he’s already well on his way to becoming the next @johncmayer… Well maybe he’ll have to step up with some witty tweets and get inked with some tattoos ;)
John Mayer - OH MY LORD I CAN'T BREATHE!!!

Joe Brooks’ show at The Gap (technically the stage was the Gap Kids store) on Robertson Blvd marked the kick-off of his nation-wide radio tour to promote his new single, World at Our Feet and his upcoming album, Constellation Me.

L.A. Feature: Echo The Sky

L.A. (Local Artist) Feature: Echo The Sky
I’ve been going to a lot of local shows here in LA recently and I’m excited about some of the new artists I’ve discovered, one band that really stood out to me was: Echo the Sky.

Jesse & Caleb (Photography by Lisa Capp)

I was first introduced to Echo the Sky about a month ago at a small Koffeehouse production at Harvelle’s in Santa Monica. Even with just an acoustic set and only enough time slotted to play two songs, they put on an impressive show. They even got booked on-the-spot to perform at another upcoming show in Santa Monica, at the Dakota Lounge along with some other up and coming artists; Selena Garcia, Jamie Meyer and the Jane Carrey Band. Since I know Selena and Jamie’s music, I was especially excited for this show and couldn’t wait to hear Echo the Sky play a full set.
