Thanks to Jason Reeves, I stumbled upon this amazing artist, Joe Brooks who Seventeen Magazine just today named, “the next John Mayer.” That’s quite the honor, don’t you think?
Being a huge John Mayer fan myself, I know that those are some giant shoes to fill, but I’m confident that Joe the talent and appeal to make it happen. After catching him at The Roxy back in January, and again recently for his (free) acoustic performance at The Gap Store in Beverly Hills, I’d say he’s already well on his way to becoming the next @johncmayer… Well maybe he’ll have to step up with some witty tweets and get inked with some tattoos ;)
Joe Brooks’ show at The Gap (technically the stage was the Gap Kids store) on Robertson Blvd marked the kick-off of his nation-wide radio tour to promote his new single, World at Our Feet and his upcoming album, Constellation Me.
I was lucky enough to catch this unique live version of World at Our Feet that he sang with his friend, Charles Black! Check it out:
I can’t wait for his debut album to come out September 21st – So far, “Feel the Sunshine” is my favorite song:
